RDT Limited provides you this Website, www.developer.rdt.co.uk and we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This statement sent out what data we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, how (and how long) we store it and what we do to protect it.  We have also detailed your rights around the data we keep on you.

This statement works in conjunction with Policies related to Privacy including the Data Protection Policy, Information Security Policy and the Security of Documents and Data Policy.

For the purposes of the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or any such regulation or act in force at the time, the data controller is RDT Limited.

We may update this statement at any time.

What data we may collect on you

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified.

We may hold your personal information because you supplied it to us, for example;

Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Website www.developer.rdt.co.uk. Including when you registered to receive information on our Website.

The personal information will generally consist of your name, contact information and your job title, but may from time to time include further information such as information about your attendance at events, such as conferences and seminars.

In addition to the personal information that you may provide us with, our Website may use technology that lets us collect certain technical information; for example use of tracked clickable links or similar server technologies.  We may, for instance, monitor your usage of our Website.  This may include monitoring how many times you visit, which pages, and the resources you access.  Additionally traffic data, location data, weblogs and the originating domain name of a user’s internet service provider.

Generally, you have no obligation to provide us with your personal information, but if you do not provide information, we may not be able to assist you.

Why we collect your data

We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • operating our business day to day, including responding to queries;

  • sending you information about what we do, and what is happening in the insurance and insurtech sectors;

  • ensuring compliance with our IT policies and network and information security, and any other relevant policies;

  • protecting our business with security;

  • to ensure that content from our Website is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;

  • to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;

  • to help us to continue to improve our Website

What we do with your data

In most instances, we process your personal information for the purpose of pursuing our legitimate interests as a business.  Those interests include the efficient operation of our business; the protection of our business and the growth of our business.

In some instances we may rely on your express consent to use your personal information, but we will let you know (and give you the chance to withdraw consent) if we do.  An example of this is where we may send you information about what we do and what is happening in the insurance sector, and give you the chance to withdraw consent for such communication if we do.

In some instances we may use your personal information in order to enable us to perform a contract which we have in place with you.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it. If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006.

We may disclose your personal information to third party service providers, where they reasonably require it to perform their obligations or in order to enable us to achieve the objective of our processing.  The service provider in this case is our CRM provider.

Additionally if we have a transfer of ownership.

We will release information about you if you direct us to, or if we are required to do so by law or any other regulatory authority.

Where we store your data and how we protect it

Your data may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), to enable processing in connection with RDT’s communication procedures.  Data is transferred outside the EEA based on the standard contractual clauses.

By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing.  We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

How long we keep your personal data

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements and for as long as we have a business reason for doing so.

Your rights

As a data subject you have a number of rights.  You can:

  • access and obtain a copy of your data on request;

  • require RDT to change incorrect or incomplete data;

  • require RDT to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing;

  • object to the processing of your data where RDT is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing;

  • withdraw your consent for us processing your data where you had previously provided consent

If you believe that RDT has not complied with your data protection rights, you can complain to the Information Commissioner.

Our Website may, from time to time, contain links to and from third party Websites. We have not reviewed all of these third party Websites and do not control and cannot be responsible for their privacy practices. Please check these third party Websites’ privacy policies before you submit any personal data to them.

IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

We may also use cookies on our Website. A cookie is a piece of data that a Website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer so that when you next return, the Website recognises your computer. They help us to improve our Website and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:
